I’m Dr. Katayoun Esfahanizadeh, though most know me as Dr. Katy. With over 25 years of experience in pediatric dentistry, I hail from Iran, where I was a faculty member at Azad Dental University of Medical Sciences in Tehran and managed a bustling private practice.
My foray into dentistry began at 17. I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Bangalore University in India, followed by a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and a Master’s in Pediatric Dentistry (MS) from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. I also completed a Fellowship in Hospital Dentistry at Shahid Beheshti University and recently acquired an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.
After relocating to Canada in 2015, I completed the NDEB equivalency process to become a licensed general practitioner. Over the years, my expertise in providing comprehensive dental care for children and adolescents has earned me numerous positive reviews. I am particularly proud of developing a “no freezing” technique that significantly reduces dental phobias in patients of all ages. Additionally, I am licensed to use mild sedation for more challenging cases.
When I’m not at work, I love hiking, watching movies, and spending time with friends. These activities help me relax and recharge, allowing me to provide the best care for my patients.
My name is Dr. Seola Ji, but you can call me Dr. Sally. Growing up in Toronto, I’ve always had a passion for helping and caring for others, which naturally led me to a career in dentistry.
I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Toronto. My time there instilled a deep commitment to delivering quality dental care, especially to underprivileged, marginalized, and rural communities.
My professional journey has focused on ensuring dental visits are welcoming and comfortable for everyone. My extensive experience working with diverse populations has sharpened my ability to make each patient feel at ease during their visits.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my two cats. I love discovering new cafes, staying active, and taking long, leisurely walks around the city. I hope to be able to provide quality dentistry and make it a pleasant experience for everyone.
